November’s Arcadian News

1 11 2008

Welcome to the The Arcadian News (November 2008, Vol. 1, No. 4), where you will learn breathtaking facts about The Arcadia Project in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada.

POETRY IS THE NEW TV

The monthly Ellipses Poetry Night at Arcadia’s CafĂ© takes place on November 6, 7pm, and features an open mic (so bring your original poetry, fiction, or cover texts). The Ellipses Poetry Factory focuses on building shiny robots out of discarded poems. Stock in the company is traded monthly; each poem read receives two shares in the form of poetic empowerment. Bonus shares assigned for joining Ellipses’ illustrious Facebook group!

MUSIC IS THE NEW POLITICS

Arcadia Coffeehouse cheers on its sound leaders, who will rally throughout November. Musicians featured are Mister Tahti (Sault Ste. Marie), Oldfolks Home (Winnipeg), and Zetabooth. An acoustic show will be held on November 14th. Stop by the Coffeehouse for full details or keep an eye on our informative sidebar.

STUDIO IS THE NEW GALLERY

In an ever increasing bid to streamline the functionality of Arcadia, the former whitespace gallery has been converted into studio space (817 Queen St. E.). With its calm, clean white walls, hardwood floors, privacy, and downtown location, the studio is ideal for yoga and Pilates classes, rehearsal space, or music recording. Contact Arcadia for information about current events or renting studio space.

ART IS THE NEW BOOKSTORE

whitespace gallery is relocating to streetfront property, with a glorious window giving passersby a peek into the gallery’s offerings. Pop by 821 Queen St. E. to check out the new home of whitespace!

LOUNGE IS THE NEW EMPTY SPACE

The Coffeehouse is in the final stages of preparation to expand its square footage to include a lounge with comfy couches and lights by which to read your spines, spirals, Stars, Globes, and Posts. The lounge will be located behind the new whitespace gallery.
